Managing Visit Settings and Adding Notes on the iPad
The Visit Settings consist of provider and billing information about the visit. The provider information is sent to the practice management system. The Visit Settings are summarized on the Visit Overview screen.
Notes are any type of information you want to record about the visit. Notes are summarized on the Visit Overview screen and render in the visit note.
This topic describes how
- Open a patient visit.

- Tap the Manage Visit Settings button.
The Manage Visit Settings window opens.
- Select the provider for the visit.
The Provider and Visit Biller must be the same to properly send charges to your practice management system.
- In Preferred Attendees, tap the names of the people in attendance for the visit.
The staff member is already marked as in attendance.
- In Scribe(s), select the name of the scribe in attendance, if any.
If the staff member is recording the chief complaint or documenting for the provider in the Ocular Exam Room, they must select themselves as the Scribe.
- If the patient is a new patient referred from another provider, slide the Is Transition of Care toggle to on.
You must reconcile medications for the patient in the Clipboard. This allows you to get credit for medication reconciliation.
- Select the Facility where treatment was provided.
- If needed, adjust the Visit Date and Time Zone.
Do not change the PMS Visit ID, PMS Visit Type, and FIN Visit ID. These fields are completed by your practice management system.
- Tap Save.
- Open a patient visit.

- Tap the Manage Visit Settings button.
The Manage Visit Settings window opens.
- Tap Archive.
A confirmation window appears.
- Tap Yes, Confirm Archive.
The visit is archived.
Notes added using this method are rendered in the visit note.
- Open a patient visit.

- Tap the Additional Visit Notes button.
The Additional Visit Notes window opens.
- Enter the note.
- If the note is important and you want it to appear at the top of the visit note, tap the Display content at the top of the visit note toggle.
- Tap Save.
The note is added to the visit note.
