ePrescribing Medications in the Detailed Visit Overview (iPad)
You can send prescriptions to the patient's preferred pharmacy electronically directly from your iPad. What do you want to do?
Navigate to the Medications screen
- Open a patient visit. For more information, go to Creating or Opening a Visit (iPad).
- Swipe up to the Rx section and tap Manage.
OR
Tap the More menu and tap Rx.
The Medications screen opens.
View medications prescribed during this visit
When you select a Medication plan in the Impressions and Plans section of the visit, you can see the medication selected within that plan listed in the Rx section of the Detailed Visit Overview.
- Open a patient visit. For more information, go to Creating or Opening a Visit (iPad).
- Swipe up to the Rx section.
Any medications included in plans documented in the visit are listed.
- Tap View, as needed, to see the medication's details.
The Medication screen opens. You can edit the medication details on this screen as needed.
Send a medication electronically
- Open the Medications screen. To learn how, go to Navigate to the Medications screen.
- Tap the check boxes on the left side of the screen to select the medication(s) you want to send.
- Tap ePrescribe in the upper-right corner of the screen.
The preferred pharmacies for the selected patient appear.
- Select the appropriate pharmacy.
If you add or change a pharmacy, the pharmacy saves to the patient’s chart.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Send Prescriptions.
Edit a medication
- Open the Medications screen. To learn how, go to Navigate to the Medications screen.
- Locate the medication you want to modify.
- Tap Edit.
The Medication screen opens.
- Edit the prescription information.
- Tap Save.
The Medications screen displays the new prescription.
Refill a medication prescription
- Open the Medications screen. To learn how, go to Navigate to the Medications screen.
- Tap the check boxes on the left side of the screen to select the medication(s) you want to refill.
- Tap Refill.
- Tap Approve.
The prescription is electronically sent to the selected facility.
Print a medication prescription
You'll need an AirPrint-compatible printer to be able to print a prescription from the app.
- Open the Medications screen. To learn how, go to Navigate to the Medications screen.
- Tap the check boxes on the left side of the screen to select the medication(s) you want to print.
- Tap Print.
The Rx Print Preview opens.
- Tap Print.
- Select the Printer and tap .
Void a medication prescription
- Open the Medications screen. To learn how, go to Navigate to the Medications screen.
- Tap the check boxes on the left side of the screen to select the medication(s) you want to void.
- Tap the Void.
The Void Rx window opens.
- Enter a reason for voiding the prescription.
- Tap OK.
The voided medication is hidden from the list of pending prescriptions.
