Setting Up Labs

Eyefinity Practice Management provides a list of pre-configured labs. You can select which labs are active in your system, and enable electronic lab ordering for individual labs.

Activating Labs

To make a lab available in Front Office, you must first activate it. Then, you can select it when creating eyeglass orders. For more information, go to Creating an Eyeglass Order.

If you will be sending VSP and non-VSP orders to a lab, set up two separate entries: one for VSP patients and one for non-VSP patients.
  1. From the Office: Setup screen, click Optical Labs. See Navigating Administration for information on how to get to Office: Setup.
  2. Enter the Lab Name and select a State for the lab you want to activate.
  3. Click Search.
  4. Locate the lab you want to activate, and select the Active check box.
  5. Click Save.

Enabling Electronic Lab Orders

You can enable electronic lab ordering through eLab on Eyefinity.com for non-VSP labs. Only labs with a valid Eyefinity lab code are available for this integration.

  1. From the office, click Optical Labs. See Navigating Administration for information on how to get to Office: Setup.
  2. Locate the lab and select the Submit Electronic Lab Orders check box.

    When you select the Submit Electronic Lab Orders check box, the Active check box for that lab is automatically selected also.

  3. Click Save.

Deactivating Labs

You cannot delete labs, but you can deactivate a lab so that it no longer appears in search results and throughout the system.

  1. From the office, click Optical Labs. See Navigating Administration for information on how to get to Office: Setup.
  2. Enter the Lab Name and select a State for the lab you want to deactivate.
  3. Click Search.
  4. Locate the lab you want to deactivate, and deselect the Active check box.
  5. Click Save.
