Setting Up Service Templates in Administration
Service Templates provide the ability to structure your schedule so appointments are created based on availability and provider preferences. For example, you can designate the days and times when a provider sees only new patients. Service templates can be added for providers, staff, or office resources. With the following steps, you can add, edit, or delete a Service Template from the resource’s Clinic Hours screen.

From the top menu bar in Administration, click Resources and select either Provider Setup or Staff Setup.

Locate the resource you want to add a service template for and click Modify in the Clinic Hours column.

Select the Available Date Range you want. Ensure the Resource is the one you want.

Click Add Template. The Service Template Setup window opens.

The Location, Resource, Available Date Range and Day of the Week pull in automatically.

Enter the template Name.

Enter the Description.

Click Service Group. The Service Group window opens.
With a service group you can define what services are available for this template. For example, you can create a New Patient Service Group that includes only new patient services. You can add, edit, and delete service groups from here if needed.

Select the Service Group from the list (for example: “New Patients”) and click Save.

If you want to restrict appointments to only the selected Service Group, check the Restrict Template to Service Group box.

Enter the Start Time. This is the time when the service template begins.

Select the Duration of the service in minutes. This is the duration of service; so for new patients, you allow 30 minutes for each appointment.

Select the Minutes between services. If you want the provider to have time between each appointment, enter the amount of time in minutes.

Enter the End Time. This is the time when the service template ends.

Click Save. The service template displays on the calendar.
