Setting Up and Modifying Contact Lens Information

You can set up and modify contact lens names, item groups, and prices.

  • You cannot create or delete contact lenses.
  • Contact lenses that have a diagnostic lens style can be set up without entering a retail price or selecting the Zero Price? check box. To see if a lens is Diagnostic, click the blue and white arrow and check the Contact Lens Detail. Staff members will not be prompted to enter a price when adding these lenses to an order.
  1. From the menu, select Products & Services and then Contact Lens Setup.
  2. Search for the contact lens(es) that you want to set up or modify. To locate custom, hybrid, or made-to-order contact lenses, select Hard/Custom CL from the Lens Category drop-down list.

  3. To view the contact lens details, click the blue and white arrow icon.
  4. Record the Contact Lens Name that you want to use on orders in your company.
  5. Select an Item Group (Cosmetic, Disposable, Therapeutic) for use in recall reports and insurance fee calculations.
    You cannot create or delete item groups.
  6. If you bill the contact lens on the CMS 1500 form as a zero-dollar ($0.00) item (for example, a trial lens), select Zero Price?.
  7. Record your Cost for purchasing the contact lens from the manufacturer.
    You must record a Cost if you plan to use this lens with the ABB batch ordering feature. For more information, go to Setting Up Discount Types for Item Types.
  8. Record the usual and customer/retail contact lens Price.
  9. To make the contact lens active, select Active (if it’s not already selected).
  10. Click Save.

    To revert your selections to the last saved selections, click Revert.
