Setting Up and Modifying Services

This topic explains how to price and activate your services and CPT codes. Eyefinity automatically loads CPT codes into the system from CMS. If your practice uses Eyefinity EHR, use this procedure to activate contact lens fitting fees in Eyefinity Practice Management that correspond to the Eyefinity EHR contact lens fit levels.

You can set up and modify service/exam names, item groups, prices, and durations.

You cannot create or delete services/exams.
  1. From the menu, select Products & Services and then Service Setup.
  2. Search for the services/exams that you want to set up or modify.

    To search for a service that does not have a CPT code:

    1. Type 0 for the Service CPT Code.
    2. Deselect the Active Only check box.
    3. Click Search.
  3. Record the Service/Exam Name that you want to use on orders and in the Appointment Scheduler in your company.
  4. Select an Item Group (Medical Exam, Medical Procedure, Premium Cl Fit, and so on) for use in Appointment Scheduler reports.
    You cannot create or delete item groups.
  5. If you will bill the service on the CMS 1500 form as a zero-dollar ($0.00) item (for example, a level II CPT code), select Zero Price?.
  6. Record the usual and customer/retail service Pricing.
  7. Select Update Last Exam Date if you want the patient's last exam date to be updated when the service is billed on an exam order.
  8. Select the default Appointment Duration for the service.
  9. Select Recall Reminder if you want to display a message after a service is invoiced, reminding staff to create a recall for the patient.
  10. To make the service active, select Active (if it’s not already selected).
  11. Click Save.

    To revert your selections to the last saved selections, click Revert.
