Setting Up the Canon Interface

You must set up the Canon interface from the computer connected to the Canon equipment.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Add.
  3. Select the Canon manufacturer and the Capture (Fundus Camera) device.
  4. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  5. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  6. Click Browse, and select the location on the network (the Canon Export Folder) where Canon saves the captured retinal images.

    Select an empty folder on your network that is not used by any other application, including Canon. If you select a folder that contains files, they will be deleted during the integration and data transfer.

  7. Click Browse, and select the location of the Canon imageSPECTRUMCapture.exe application.
  8. Click Save.

  9. Click Add.

  10. Select the Canon manufacturer and the Review (Image Manager) device.
  11. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  12. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.

If you use ExamWRITER 12 and you installed the new Eyefinity Equipment Interface(see Installing the Equipment Interface),do not follow this procedure. Instead, see To set up the Canon interface for ExamWRITER 14 and later.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Equipment Interfaces - Setup window opens.

  2. Select the checkboxes next to the equipment interfaces that you are setting up.
  3. Select Canon Review to set up the review equipment interface.
  4. Select Canon Capture to set up the capture equipment interface.
  5. Click Browse and select the location on the network where Canon saves the captured retinal images.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Exit.
  8. Close and reopen ExamWRITER to activate your changes.
