Setting Up the Essilor Interface

You must set up the Essilor interface from the computer connected to the Essilor equipment.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Add.
  3. Select the Essilor manufacturer and an Essilor device.

    If you're connecting the Vision-S 700, select APH550 (Auto Phoropter).

  4. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  5. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.

  6. Click Browse, and select the location on the network where Essilor temporarily saves the data file.

    You must select an empty folder on your network that is not used by any other application, including Essilor. If you select a folder that contains files, they will be deleted during the integration and data transfer process.

  7. Click Save.
  8. Repeat steps 2–7 for each piece of Essilor equipment that you use.
  9. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.

If you use ExamWRITER 12 and installed the new Eyefinity Equipment Interface (see Installing the Equipment Interface), do not follow this procedure. Instead, see To set up the Essilor interface for ExamWRITER 14 or later .

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Equipment Interfaces - Setup window opens.

  2. To record data received from Essilor in a file for debugging purposes, select the Debugging mode/Write to file checkbox.
  3. Select the checkboxes next to the equipment interfaces that you are setting up.
  4. Click Browse, and select the location on the network where Essilor saves the data file.
  5. Repeat steps 3–4 for each piece of Essilor equipment you use.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Exit.
  8. Close and reopen ExamWRITER to activate your changes.
