Setting Up the EyeScape Interface

You must set up the EyeScape interface from the computer connected to the camera equipment.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Add.
  3. Select the Synemed manufacturer and the Capture (Imaging) device.
  4. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  5. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  6. Click Browse, and select the folder where EyeScape is installed.
  7. Click Browse, and select the folder where the EyescapeAE.exe or EyescapeNE.exe application is installed.
  8. Click Save.

  9. Click Add.

  10. Select the Synemed manufacturer and the Review (Image Manager) device.
  11. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  12. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  13. Click Browse, and select the folder where EyeScape is installed.
  14. Click Browse, and select the folder where the EyescapeAE.exe or EyescapeNE.exe application is installed.
  15. Click Save.
  16. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.

If you use ExamWRITER 12 and you installed the new Eyefinity Equipment Interface (see Installing the Equipment Interface), do not follow this procedure. Instead, see To set up the EyeScape interface for ExamWRITER 14 and later.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Equipment Interfaces - Setup window opens.

  2. To record data received from EyeScape in a file for debugging purposes, select the Debugging mode/Write to file checkbox.
  3. Select the checkboxes next to the equipment interfaces that you are setting up.
  4. Select the drive and shared folder where the EyeScape database is stored.

    Typically, the EyeScape database is stored in the Program Files\Synemed\EyeScapeNE directory. To locate the exact database path, open Eyescape, click Program, and then select Service Settings. The Service Setup window opens and displays the database path that you must select in the Equipment Interfaces - Setupwindow.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Exit.
  7. Close and reopen ExamWRITER to activate your changes.
