Setting Up the OCULUS Interface

You must set up the OCULUS interface from the computer connected to the OCULUS equipment.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Add.
  3. Select the Oculus manufacturer and a Capture device.
  4. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  5. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  6. Click Browse, and select the location of the OCULUS Go.exe application.
  7. Click Browse, and select the file path of the OCULUS database, including its file name (for example, C:\EASY\Catalog.mdb).
  8. Record the Device ID.
  9. If you are setting up the Binoptometer 4P to capture and export visual acuity data:
    1. Click Browse, and select the location of the OCULUS GDT export folder (GDT Capture Folder), for example, C:\GDT_OUT.
    2. Record the Threshold indicating a near measurement in centimeters.
  10. Click Save.

  11. Click Add.

  12. Select the Oculus manufacturer and a Review device.
  13. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  14. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  15. Click Browse and select the location of the OCULUS Go.exe application.
  16. Click Browse and select the file path of the OCULUS databaseC:\BINO4\Catalog.mdb, for example, C:\BINO4\Catalog.mdb.
  17. Record the Device ID.
  18. Click Save.
  19. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.

If you use ExamWRITER 12 and you installed the new Eyefinity Equipment Interface (see Installing the Equipment Interface), do not follow this procedure. Instead, see To set up the OCULUS interface for ExamWRITER 14 or later.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Equipment Interfaces - Setup window opens.

  2. Select the checkboxes next to the equipment interfaces that you are setting up.
  3. Click Browse, and select the drive and folder where the equipment data is stored (for example, C:\Easy for the Easyfield C Perimeter).
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Exit.
  6. Close ExamWRITER.
  7. If you use the Binoptometer 4P, finish setting up the interface as follows:
    1. Navigate to your Windows folder (for example, C:\Windows).
    2. Double-click the OMEquip.ini file to open it.
    3. Modify the BinoExchangeFolder line so that it reads BinoExchangeFolder=C:\GDT_OUT\.
    4. Save and close the file.
  8. Reopen ExamWRITER to activate your changes.
