CPT Codes

CPT codes in OfficeMate/ExamWRITER have been updated to reflect the January 1, 2020, changes. Eyefinity has identified 16 CPT code changes that apply to eyecare. • Eye imaging valid match diagnosis 7 standard field with evidence of retinopathy now autocodes with G2104 instead of 2026F.

  • Retired codes 92225 and 92226 are no longer autocoded.

Known Issues

  • The new ExamWRITER ePrescribing interface contains the following known issues, which are tentatively scheduled to be fixed by DrFirst in January 2020:

    • You may receive an SSO-209 time-out error when attempting to log into the ExamWRITER ePrescribing interface. If you receive this error, contact Eyefinity Customer Care at 1.800.942.5353, and we will work with DrFirst to correct this error on your site. If you have not yet upgraded to the new ExamWRITER ePrescribing interface, you will not receive this error when you do upgrade.
    • There is a refresh lag time in the Action, Dose, Dose Unit, Route, and Frequency drop-down menus when you are prescribing a medication. Either these drop-down menus are initially blank, or a refresh lag time occurs while you wait for the correct options to appear.

    • Favorite medications either are not appearing or are duplicated several times.

    • When you right-click to copy and paste text, the drop-down selections are blank. Until this is fixed, use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste text in the ExamWRITER ePrescribing interface.
  • Material, Color, and Other attribute prices for lenses imported from the Lens Product Loader may be incorrect. Lenses set up with SV, BF, TF, PRG, or NVF fees are instead priced using the "All Fee" amount set up in the Third Party Setup window. Eyefinity is working to resolve this issue in the February 2020 release. In the meantime, manually price these lenses before adding them to orders and fee slips.
  • The Detailed Benefits feature in version 15 is not working as it did in version 12. Eyefinity is working to restore full functionality to this feature in a future release.
  • ReportWRITER version 15 is not working as it did in version 12, and you may receive error messages while using it. Eyefinity recommends using ExamWRITER instead of ReportWRITER to print exam reports.
