General Updates

General updates include enhancements made to the following area:

VSP Formulary and Plan Updates

The VSP Preferred check box is now deselected by default. We introduced the VSP preferred products filtering feature in the OfficeMate Features to help practices earn the most revenue from their VSP and electronic lab orders. We've deselected this check box to give your practice more flexibility and to accommodate the January 1, 2021, implementation of the VSP formulary changes.

To filter for VSP preferred products, select the VSP Preferred check box.

ExamWRITER Features

New ExamWRITER features include enhancements to the following area:

Final Contact Lens Prescriptions

The following text and signature line now print on final contact lens prescriptions:

My eye care professional provided me with a copy of my contact lens prescription at the completion of my contact lens fitting.

This feature was added to help you comply with the FTC Contact Lens Rule, which goes into effect October 16, 2020. To learn more about the Contact Lens Rule, go to Complying with the Contact Lens Rule.

To comply with the Contact Lens Rule, print two copies of the final prescription. Give one to the patient and ask the patient to sign the second.

ExamWRITER Fixes

Fixes address customer-reported issues in the following area:

We've updated autocoding to accommodate the laterality options that were introduced on October 1.

OfficeMate Features

New OfficeMate features include enhancements to the following area:

Barcode Printing

We've added support for the SATO WS408TT barcode label printer. This support does not require you to purchase a new barcode label printer; however, if you need to replace an old CG408 barcode label printer, we recommend replacing it with a newer WS408TT.

OfficeMate Fixes

Fixes address customer-reported issues in the following area:

CMS 1500 Claims

Corrected an issue that caused box 24F to display the per-unit price rather than the total product cost when the CMS 1500 was viewed on screen. This issue impacted only the display on screen and did not effect the ANSI or print image claims submitted for payment.

Known Issues

Some users have reported receiving the following error when clicking Display Charges in the Receipts and Adjustments window, Insurance tab:

Error 2146233033 String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.

If you receive this error, enter a Date of Service prior to clicking Display Charges. If the error continues to display, contact Eyefinity Customer Care.
