This section lists the new eyecare-related CPT codes that are effective January 1, 2021. Some of the codes may apply to rare procedures, but are provided here for reference.

The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, passed by Congress and signed by the President, delays the implementation of the G2211 code. Insurance carriers will ignore or reject the G2211 code on claims with service dates prior to January 1, 2024. To avoid claim rejections, do not include G2211 on your claims.
