Cost

Cost is worth 30% of your total MIPS score. There are 29 cost measures available for the 2024 performance period, including

  • Episode-based cost measures based on a range of procedures, acute inpatient medical conditions, and chronic conditions; and
  • Population-based cost measures focused more broadly on primary and inpatient care.

CMS uses Medicare administrative claims data to calculate cost measure performance, which means you don’t have to submit any additional data for this performance category.

Because the cost category measures performance outside of your use of our software, we haven't developed documentation for this category. To learn more about the cost category and measures, refer to the QPP website.
