Tracking and Reporting Promoting Interoperability Performance with ExamWRITER
ExamWRITER features comprehensive and easy-to-understand reports to help you keep track of your Promoting Interoperability (PI) performance. The MIPS Promoting Interoperability window helps you see where you have met PI requirements and where you may need to focus more attention. Eyefinity suggests checking this report weekly, monthly, or quarterly to ensure you’re on the right track.
- From the ExamWRITER or main window, click the Reports menu, select Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (2015 Edition) 2019, and select Medicare or Medicaid.
When tracking and reporting your MIPS performance, you must select the report or calculator that corresponds to your MIPS performance year. CMS modifies and revises the measure specifications each year, and Eyefinity creates a report or calculator based on the specifications for each performance year. Therefore, using a prior year's report or calculator to look at the current year's performance will result in incorrect and inconsistent reporting.
To access previous MIPS and meaningful use reports for audit purposes, click the Reports menu and select Merit-Based Incentive Payment System Hx or CMS Meaningful Use Reporting Hx.
- Select a line from the Meaningful Use Criteria list.
The description appears in the right column.
- Select a date range from the Reporting From Date and Reporting Through Date fields.
- Select a provider from the Provider drop-down menu.
- Click Calculate to populate the Calculated Values fields.
The calculated values are displayed in the Numerator, Denominator, and Percentage fields.
- Click Generate MU Report to generate a report that lists the calculations for all measures.
The report, an XML-based file, is placed in your DATA\eDocuments folder.
The following video from CMS demonstrates how to manually enter yourPI calculations in the QPP Provider Portal.
