Finding Your ExamWRITER Certification ID

When you attest to your MIPS performance through the QPP Provider Portal, CMS requires that you enter an EHR Certification Number (CEHRT ID). This certification number represents all of the 2015-edition certified EHR software and services you employed in your MIPS performance. Specifically, you'll need to select the following products and versions:

Generating Your Certification ID

Here's is how to find the EHR Certification Number for OfficeMate/ExamWRITER and any other modules you used to satisfy MIPS requirements:

  1. Go to the Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL).
  2. Add OfficeMate/ExamWRITER to your cart:
    1. Type ExamWRITER in the search box. If the search results do not display automatically, click the magnifying glass.
    2. Click Cert ID + for each product and each version you used during your 90-day Promoting Interoperability performance period.

    If you migrated from another certified EHR to ExamWRITER during your Promoting Interoperability performance period, or if you upgraded from one certified version of ExamWRITER to another (e.g., from 15.2 to 15.3), you will need to select both certified products.

    You do not need to add DrFirst to your cart. ONC already knows that you need to use that module with ExamWRITER to satisfy MIPS requirements.

  3. Add the secure messaging module to your cart:
    1. Type MaxMD in the search box. If the search results do not display automatically, click the magnifying glass.
    2. Click + Cert ID for MaxMD Version 3.0 SOAP.
  4. Add the patient portal module to your cart:
    1. Type ConnectEHR in the search box. If the search results do not display automatically, click the magnifying glass.
    2. Click Cert ID + for ConnectEHR FHIR4-B.
  5. Add the quality measure portal module to your cart:
    1. Type CQMSolution in the search box. If the search results do not display automatically, click the magnifying glass.
    2. Click Cert ID + for CQMSolution 23.
  6. After adding all products to your cart, click the CMS ID Creator menu.
  7. Confirm the Base Criteria total shows 100%,
  8. Click Get 2015 EHR Certification ID.
  9. Click Download PDF to save a copy of your EHR Certification ID with your MIPS audit documentation.
  10. Select and copy the number displayed in bold. This number also prominently appears in the PDF you downloaded.
  11. Return to the QPP Provider Portal to paste the EHR Certification ID in the attestation system.

OfficeMate/ExamWRITER 2015-Edition Certified EHR Releases

The following OfficeMate/ExamWRITER versions are 2015-edition certified, which is required for MIPS performance in 2019 and later. Select only the version(s) you had in place during your Promoting Interoperability performance period.
