Recording Physical Counts for a Central Inventory Session in AcuityLogic DC

If the distribution center location from which you are accessing AcuityLogic DC created the central inventory session, you can freeze and record physical counts for your location at the scheduled date and time.

If your company has multiple distribution centers and another distribution center created the central inventory session you are recording inventory for, you need to record inventory counts in the DC Physical window. See Recording Physical Counts Using a Barcode Scanner in AcuityLogic DC.

To record physical counts for a central inventory session

  1. Click Inventory and select Central Inventory.

    The Central Inventory window opens.

  2. Click the Details link for the session.

    The Central Inventory Details window opens.

  3. If the status for your location is Pending, select the check box in the Include column next to your location and click Freeze.

    Skip to step 4 if the status for your location is Freeze.

  4. Click the Scan link to begin recording inventory counts.

    The Inventory Physical Count window opens.

  5. To record the count for an item using the normal method, follow the process below:
    1. Select an inventory location in the Location drop-down list. See Maintaining Inventory Locations in AcuityLogic DC.
    2. Click inside the UPC Code field and scan the barcode for an item you have in stock using a barcode scanner.

      AcuityLogic populates the details for the scanned item.

    3. Enter the item quantity in the Count field.
    4. Click Add.
    5. To edit the count for an item, click Delete to remove an entry or click Reset to clear all entries added.
    6. Click Save to close the Inventory Physical Count window.
  6. To record the count for an item using the quick scan method, follow the process below:
    1. Select an inventory location in the Location drop-down list. See Maintaining Inventory Locations in AcuityLogic DC.
    2. Select the Quick Scan check box.
    3. Click Print Numeric Barcodes to open and print the numeric barcodes.
    4. Scan the barcode(s) that represent the quantity you want to enter for the inventory item.

      You can scan multiple barcodes to represent a quantity. For example, scan the 100 and 3 barcodes to represent a quantity of 103.

      Scan the Cancel barcode if you enter the wrong quantity and want to reset the entry in the Count field.

      AcuityLogic enters the quantity in the Count field.

    5. Scan the barcode for the inventory item.

      AcuityLogic adds the inventory item. If you scan the barcode for the same item more than once without first scanning a numeric barcode, AcuityLogic adds the same item to a new entry with a quantity of one.

    6. To edit the count for an item, click Delete to remove an entry or click Reset to clear all entries added.
    7. Click Save to close the Inventory Physical Count window.
