Release Notes

Because Encompass™ is cloud based, your software is automatically updated to the latest version of Encompass. However, you'll need to visit the App Store to download the latest iPad app.

Additionally, new releases are pushed to your training sandbox approximately two weeks prior to the official release to give you an opportunity to explore new features. To learn more, go to Accessing Your Training Sandbox.

Encompass 7.12

Training Sandbox Released November 11, 2025

Tentative General Release December 9, 2025

This release includes the following features and enhancements:

  • Edit finalized visits. You asked, we listened! One of our most requested updates is coming—you're now able to unfinalize and edit previous visits with ease.
  • Save taps with smarter refractive documentation. Encompass now automatically documents not just refractive diagnoses but also counseling and follow-up plans. According to initial testing, this enhancement can save you up to 16 taps per visit.
  • Send fees and prescriptions more quickly. We’ve pinned the Send Fees and Send Rx buttons directly to the Visit Overview page on the web version of Encompass, making them easier to find and use.
  • Access your schedule more easily. The agenda view in the iPad app now syncs to the current time, so you spend less time swiping, especially at the end of a busy day.

Encompass 7.11

Released September 9, 2025

Training Sandbox Released August 23, 2025

This release includes the following features and enhancements:

  • Save time with automatic refractive diagnoses and refraction plans. In response to user feedback, Encompass can now automatically generate a diagnosis and plan based on the manifest refraction documented in the Vision Exam.
  • Reduce claim errors related to ICD-10 codes. Encompass now warns you when you send fees or finalize visits with missing or invalid ICD-10 codes, helping you avoid claim rejections before they happen.
  • View chronic conditions in one place. We've added medical history to the Eye Log, giving you a quick snapshot where you can see patients’ medical and eye history in a digestible format.
