Exporting Patient Data
Data export is a process that enables you to export patient data out of Encompass. For example, you may use the data export to share patient data with a special registry or with an area hospital. The data export includes demographics, exams, tests, prescriptions, orders, patient documents, images, and more.
The data export is a one-time export of pipe-delimited CSV files and does not establish a continual transmission of data to another system. The receiving party will need to develop a method of parsing the CSV files and extracting the relevant data.
Once you export patient data and extract the files, the HIPAA-covered health information and is no longer encrypted. You should share the export files using only secure methods and delete export files from your network when they are no longer needed.
