Exporting Patient Data

The Data Export window enables you to export patient data out of OfficeMate/ExamWRITER. For example, you may use the data export to share patient data with a special registry or with an area hospital if sharing individual CDAs is insufficient. The data export includes demographics, exams, tests, prescriptions, orders, financial transactions, patient documents, ExamDRAW images, and more.

The data export is a one-time export of XML files and does not establish a continual transmission of data to another system. The party with which you are sharing the data will need to develop a method of parsing the XML files and extracting the relevant data.

Exported data includes HIPAA-covered health information and is not encrypted. You should share the export files using only secure methods and delete export files from your network when they are no longer needed.
