Encompass Registry Prerequisites and Limitations
The Encompass registry enables you to instantly send your MIPS data to CMS. It's magical! But, the magic works only if certain conditions are met.
Meeting the Prerequisites
To submit your performance data from the MIPS Dashboard you must meet the following prerequisites:
- Use Encompass for at least 180 days during your performance period. If you used Encompass for less than the full year but more than 180 consecutive days, you can submit your promoting interoperability and improvement activities data through the Encompass registry. Quality data will need to be reported outside of the registry.
- Subscribe to the Encompass registry. The Encompass registry requires a per-clinician annual subscription. To purchase the registry, call Eyefinity sales team at 800.269.3666.
- Subscribe in advance of the reporting deadline. You must purchase the registry by mid-March to be able to submit MIPS data for the preceding performance year.
- Set up group reporting in advance of the reporting deadline. If you plan to report as a group, you must select this option within Encompass by mid-March.
- Finalize your exams and process any overrides in advance of reporting. The MIPS dashboard is not updated immediately to reflect up-to-the-minute changes to exam documentation. Finalize any exams and process any overrides at least two business days prior to submitting your MIPS data.
- Submit your data prior to the reporting deadline. The deadline to submit your data using the Encompass registry is March 31 of the year following the MIPS performance period.
Limitations
The following limitations have been imposed by CMS:
- You must have reported clinical data to two registries. You must have used either Encompass's built-in dry eye and POAG registries or two outside registries to be able to use the Encompass MIPS data registry to report your Promoting Interoperability performance.
- You must claim exclusions through the QPP Portal. If you're claiming an exclusion, you must report your Promoting Interoperability performance data to CMS directly through the QPP Portal. You may continue to report other categories using the built-in MIPS data registry.
- Aggregate quality data from multiple EHRs. If you migrated from another EHR system to Encompass during the calendar year, you must aggregate your quality data from both EHRs and report it through a registry like Healthmonix.
