2021 CPT Code Updates
The American Medical Association (AMA) is making minor changes to the CPT code set. In some cases, AMA added new codes and retired others. In other cases, only the description associated with the code changed. Eyefinity software and platforms are prepared to transition to the new codes.
The updated codes apply only to claims with a service date on or after the CPT code change effective date—January 1. Claims with an earlier service date will continue to use the prior codes. Billers should familiarize themselves with the changes and verify that the correct codes are appearing on claims.
Eyefinity has identified 10 CPT code changes that apply to eyecare.
