Submitting MIPS Data with the Built-in Registry
This section explains how to authorize and submit data from Encompass to CMS, including how to:
- Opening the MIPS Dashboard
- Selecting the Measures to Report
- Authorizing and Submitting Your MIPS Data
To learn more about reviewing performance data in the MIPS Dashboard, go to Tracking MIPS Performance with the Encompass MIPS Dashboard.
Whether you’re submitting MIPS performance data as an individual or as a group, the procedure is the same. Throughout the performance year, individual clinicians log into Encompass on the web, open the MIPS Dashboard and review their data. After the performance year, but prior to March 31 of the following year, the individual clinician or group authorizer must log into Encompass on the web, open the MIPS Dashboard, select the measures to report, and authorize the registry to submit the data to CMS.
After you (or individual clinicians in a group) have reviewed your performance data, you’re ready to submit your MIPS data to CMS.
Reporting the promoting interoperability category is optional for small practices (15 or fewer providers). To learn more, go to Taking Advantage of Small-Practice Accommodations.
The MIPS dashboard is not updated immediately. Finalize any exams and process any overrides at least two business days prior to submitting your MIPS data.
You must have reported clinical data to two registries—either Encompass's built-in dry eye and POAG registries or two outside registries—to be able to use the Encompass MIPS data registry to report your Promoting Interoperability performance.
If you're claiming an exclusion, you must report your Promoting Interoperability performance data to CMS directly through the QPP Portal. You may continue to report other categories using the built-in MIPS data registry.
