Preparing to Submit Maui Jim Orders and Claims

After completing the product and lab set up required in Admin, VSP network doctors who are authorized Maui Jim retailers can submit Maui Jim lab orders from POS for both VSP members and private-pay customers. The claims submitted for VSP members can be processed following the same process as other VSP claims in Billing.

Ordering Maui Jim Frames and Lenses

You create eyeglass orders using Maui Jim products the same way you do other orders. This table lists the allowable lens/frame/lab combinations for eyeglass orders.

Since AcuityLogicdoes not prevent you from submitting orders with non-allowable lens/frame/lab combinations, ensure you reference the table when creating orders with Maui Jim products so the orders are not rejected by VSP or the lab.

Maui Jim Sun Rx lenses cannot be ordered with non-Maui Jim frames.

1 Frames without a color "MJRX" and with names that do not start with "MJ" are considered Maui Jim Plano frames and cannot be submitted with a prescription eyeglass order.

2 Frames with a color "MJRX" in the color field are considered Maui Jim Sun frames and can be submitted with a prescription eyeglass order.

For Maui Jim Sun frames, the Maui Jim catalog includes SKUs, colors, and frames with "MJRX" to indicate the frame can be submitted with a prescription. This indicator helps enforce the available lens/frame/lab combinations shown in the table above.

For Maui Jim Sun Rx frames, you need to follow the normal process to set up the frames in Admin as new frames. Do not use the existing Maui Jim Sun frames for prescription orders or update the color field for your existing Maui Jim Sun frames. This will result in incorrect receivable and benefit amounts and the orders will be rejected by the lab.
