Eyefinity Practice Management 10.29 Release Notes

Eyefinity announces the newest version of Eyefinity Practice Management. This updated version improves upon your system's robust attributes and offers new features and expanded functionality.

Front Office Enhancements

Eyefinity Practice Management 10.29 Front Office includes enhancements to the following areas:

Patient and Outside Provider Referrals

You can now select Patient and Outside Provider from the Referred By drop-down list in Demographics, and track these referrals using the new Referral Source Tracking Report.

Patient Referrals

  1. In the new patient's Demographics screen, select Patient from the Referred By (MU) drop-down list.

    The Patient Referral window opens.

  2. Enter the referring patient's name, date of birth, and/or phone number.
  3. To include inactive patients in the search, select Show Inactive.
  4. Click Search.

    The list updates to display patients that match your search criteria.

  5. Locate the referring patient in the list and click his or her name.

    The Patient Referral window closes and the selected referring patient's name, phone number, and date of birth display below the Referred By (MU) field in the Demographics screen.

    • To go to the referring patient's Demographics screen, click their name.
    • To select a different referring patient, click Change.
    • To remove the referring patient from the new patient's record, click Remove Patient.

Outside Provider Referrals

  1. In the new patient's Demographics screen, select Outside Provider from the Referred By (MU) drop-down list.

    The Outside Provider window opens.

  2. Enter the outside provider's first and last names.
  3. Click Search.

    The list updates to display outside providers that match your search criteria.

  4. Locate the outside provider in the list and click his or her name. If you do not see the provider listed, click + Outside Provider to add them to your system. For more information, see Adding Outside Providers.
    Only providers and staff members with the Rx Outside Provider Setup security permission selected in Administration can add outside providers. If you do not have this security permission, an Override window displays, allowing another user with permission to enter their username and password and give you temporary access. For information on setting security permissions, see Setting Up Provider Security Settings and Setting Up Staff Security Settings

    The Outside Provider window closes and the selected provider's name, address, and phone number (if recorded in your system) display below the Referred By (MU) field in the Demographics screen

    • To select a different referring outside provider, click Change.
    • To remove the referring outside provider from the new patient's record, click Remove Outside Provider.

Referral Source Tracking Report

The new Referral Source Tracking Report provides a list of either patients or outside providers who provided referrals to your practice during a specified month and year. For more information, see Generating the Referral Source Tracking Report.

Save & Add Another Order Option in Material Orders Pricing

A new Save & Add Another button has been added to the Pricing screen in Material Orders, to enable you to quickly create another order when saving your current order for invoicing later.

  1. When you are ready to save an eyeglass or contact lens order in the Pricing screen, click Save & Add Another.

    A drop-down list displays.

  2. Select whether to start a new Contact Lens Order or Eyeglass Order.

    The current order is saved for invoicing later and the Contact Lens Order or Eyeglass Order insurance selection screen opens.

Fixed Issues

Eyefinity Practice Management 10.29 fixes issues in the following area:

Front Office

  • The Uncut check box no longer displays in the Choose Lenses screen for VSP Medicaid eyeglass orders. Uncut lenses cannot be ordered using VSP Medicaid insurance.
  • When you create VSP orders that include AR Coating or a miscellaneous extra automatically applied by the system (for example, Technical Add-On A, Oversize, Prism) you can now successfully proceed to pricing. Previously, the Continue to Pricing button would not work for VSP orders if these items were included.
  • The Find Open Appointments window no longer incorrectly displays Scheduler time slots that are unavailable.
