Achieving Promoting Interoperability Requirements

Promoting interoperability (PI) is worth 25% of your total MIPS score. You must complete 180 days of promoting interoperability using a 2015-edition "Cures Update" certified EHR, like Eyefinity EHR 7.0 or later or ExamWRITER 15.3 or later.

You must report the required measures satisfactorily to receive a PI score. You may report optional measures to move your PI score closer to 100%, but the score is capped at 100%.

Click the measure name to learn more about that measure and how to achieve it in Eyefinity EHR or ExamWRITER.

Small practices (practices with 15 or fewer eligible clinicians) may opt out of the Promoting Interoperability category. CMS will automatically reweight the PI category to 0% for all small practices, unless those practices choose to report any PI data.
