Eyefinity Practice Management 10.25 Release Notes

Release Date: October 20, 2020

Eyefinity announces the newest version of Eyefinity Practice Management. This updated version improves upon your system's robust attributes and offers new features and expanded functionality.

This section includes:

Front Office Enhancements

Eyefinity Practice Management 10.25 Front Office includes enhancements to the following areas:

Print Minor Consent Form in Demographics and Appointment Confirmations

For patients under 18 years old, you can now print the Permission to Consent for Medical/Optometric Care to Minor Child or Incapacitated Adult form from the Demographics screen or the Appointment Confirmations screen. For more information, see Printing a Minor Consent Form.

Add Country for Patient Addresses

A new Country drop-down list has been added to the address areas of the Demographics, Add New Patient, Add Dependent, Change Responsible Party, and Add Additional Address screens, to enable you to select whether the address is in the United States or Canada. The field defaults to United States. Country information appears as part of the patient's address in the Overview screen.

As part of this release, the country is automatically selected for all your existing patients who have complete address information. Patients with bad address information will not have a country automatically assigned.

Frame Search for Lenses Only and Extras Only Orders

You can now search for frames in the database when adding a patient's supplied frame to a lenses only or extras only order. If the frame in the database is not exactly the same as the patient's supplied frame, you can edit the frame information before adding it to the order. Selecting a frame using the search does not impact your inventory.

  1. In the order building screen, click Add Patient’s Supplied Frame
  2. Enter the search criteria and click Search.
  3. Select the frame in the list.

The frame information displays. The Frame Source is automatically set to Patient Supplied (Customer Frame).

  4. Edit the frame information, if necessary.
  5. Click Add to Order.

Uncut Lenses With No Frame Sent to Lab on Complete Eyeglass Orders

Selecting the Uncut check box when adding lenses to your order now automatically sends information to the lab that no frame will be coming. This update prevents delays due to confusion at the lab.

  • This feature applies only to non-VSP electronic orders sent to eLab labs.
  • You should continue to select Doctor Supplied (Store Enclosed) as the Frame Source.

To use this feature, perform the following steps when creating an eyeglass order:

  1. Add a non-VSP insurance and select Electronic Lab Submission.
  2. Select Complete Eyeglass Order.
  3. Select the prescription, as you normally would.
  4. Add the frame, and select Doctor Supplied (Store Enclosed) as the Frame Source.
  5. Add the lenses, and select the Uncut check box.
  6. Select the desired eLab lab and continue with the order as you normally would.

For more information on complete eyeglass ordering, see Creating a Complete Eyeglass Order.

Fixed Issues

Eyefinity Practice Management 10.25 fixes the following issues.

Front Office

  • If an error occurs when pulling a VSP authorization, the system now displays the correct error message describing the problem. Previously, an "unknown error" message displayed.
  • When you add items to material orders, the system now complies with the selection at the Zero Price? check box in Administration. Previously, the system would prevent you from adding some items to an order with a $0.00 price, even when the check box was selected for the item.
  • The Find Open Appointments window no longer incorrectly displays Scheduler time slots that are unavailable. An issue with the window not displaying appointments for the month of October has also been fixed.
