ePrescribing Fixes

If you use the ExamWRITER ePrescribing interface, you will soon automatically be upgraded to a new interface. This update will occur on a Sunday evening and will be available to you when you click the eRx icon in the Medication Order window. In addition to the following features, this upgrade provides improved visual navigation, prescription-sent texts to patients, and increased renewal notice capacity. For more information, go to Using ePrescribing with ExamWRITER .
  • Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 have been retired and TLS 1.2 has been implemented. This change improves your internet browser security standards and ensures that you are compliant with DrFirst security standards.

ExamWRITER Features

  • New color discrimination selections are available to more accurately document modern color vision and color screening tests.
If you copy forward exams with existing color vision and color screening test selections, you must reselect that information using the new and more accurate selections available to you to ensure correct exam documentation.
  • You can now document two new special testing color vision screenings—acquired color vision deficiency (H52.52) and unspecified color vision deficiencies (H53.50)—and they autocode in exams.
  • The extended ophthalmoscopy special testing selections now autocode using the new 2020 CPT codes (92201 and 92202).
  • Active, allergic, and discontinued medications are now grouped together on exam charts. This enhancement helps you to see a patient's medication statuses more quickly.
  • You can now select Phthisis bulbi (Atrophy of Globe) in the Impressions/Orbit window, and it autocodes the appropriate ICD-10 code—H44.521 (right), H44.522 (left), H44.523 (bilateral), H44.529 (unspecified) in the exam.
  • You can now select monitor options in the Treatment Nystagmus window.
  • You can now select the ERG and VEP special testing types and record the associated CPT codes in the exam.

ExamWRITER Fixes

AOA MORE Integration

  • Only one physical exam record for each BMI record is now exported. Previously, multiple exam records were exported.

Control Center

  • You can now correctly sort columns in ascending and descending order by clicking on the column heading.

Equipment Integrations

  • PD values now populate correctly in exams when you integrate with the Huvitz MRK-3100. For more information, go to Using the Huvitz Interface.

Special Testing

Task Manager

General Fixes

  • This release includes several back-end changes that improve performance throughout the programs.

Installation Fixes

  • Your SQL server and database information is now correctly and automatically populated in the installation wizard to ensure a successful installation and upgrade. For more information, go to Installing or Upgrading OfficeMate/ExamWRITER.
  • You can now successfully repair your OfficeMate Server application without the server repair process hanging.

OfficeMate Features

  • If you integrate with Eyefinity EHR, patient nicknames are now transferred to Eyefinity EHR with other patient demographic information.

OfficeMate Fixes

Appointment Scheduler

  • You no longer receive an unhandled exception error when attempting to print the work week calendar view.

ERA

Fee Slips

  • You no longer erroneously receive a VSP error message that states, “Unable to Merge the Left and Right Contact Lens Material/Type,” when you record contact lenses from two different categories (Soft Sphere, Soft Toric, Soft Sphere Disposable, Soft Bifocal, etc.) on a fee slip.

HL7 Interface

  • You no longer receive a status field error when you send patient demographic HL7 messages from AcuityLogic to OfficeMate. For more information, go to Using the HL7 Interface.

Lab Interface

  • The correct files and file types are now generated to successfully integrate with OMICS-OPT. For more information, go to Setting Up the Lab Interface.

  • You no longer receive error -24809 when the Lab Interface is reading or attaching trace information.

Ledger

  • When you apply a refund to patient (on account), a separate patient credit for $0.00 is no longer created in the patient's receipt history.

Maintain Documents

  • You can now successfully use the Patient Email Address and Patient Cell Phone merge fields in one-click documents that you print. These fields were added to the Merge Fields list in the Maintain Documents window in OfficeMate 15.2.3563.

Patient Demographics

  • The Appointment Scheduler no longer quickly opens and flashes on-screen when you open a patient's demographic record.

Products

  • You no longer receive a message stating that a base attribute must be selected if one is already selected in the product's details.

Recalls

  • Pre-printed recall postcards now print correctly. OfficeMate no longer skips patients when printing these types of recall postcards. Note that in order to successfully print these recall postcards, you still must have at least one blank or single space in the text field on the left side of the postcard.

Receipts & Adjustments

  • Tendered cash payment amounts are no longer off by $0.01.

  • Chargebacks recorded after payments are applied no longer impact previously recorded adjustments. Previously, the balance was displayed incorrectly in the Receipts & Adjustments window after these transactions.
  • The To Apply amount no longer incorrectly changes when you select a payment from Receipt History and then search for a patient name or fee slip.
  • New controls help prevent you from recording a chargeback for the wrong patient. To record a chargeback, select a patient's line item and then right-click to open the ChargeBack window. Repeat this process for each chargeback.

Reports

  • Open charges on the most recently recorded fee slip now appear on the Patient Aging and Accounts Receivable reports.
  • The Insurance Aging and Aged A/R reports now list all patients with insurance balances. These reports also no longer list unapplied insurance deposits that were previously applied. These fixes will make resolving unpaid insurance claims much easier.
  • A blank location name and data associated with it no longer appears at the top of custom inventory reports.
  • You can no longer remove the Internal Marketing report from the Int. Marketing tab in the Reports & Statements window.

Statements

  • The Other Open Items line now correctly displays the patient's other open balance. Previously, this line displayed $0.00 if the "Print zero dollar line items on Statements/Fee Slip" preference was set to No.
  • You can no longer remove the Statements report from the Statements tab in the Reports & Statements window.
  • The Payment Due Date Warning message now displays the correct payment due date.
  • Late charges are now correctly calculated, even when the transfer date is used. Previously, transfer dates were ignored when late charges were calculated.

Known Issues

  • The Detailed Benefits feature in version 15 is not working as it did in version 12. Eyefinity is working to restore full functionality to this feature in a future release.
  • ReportWRITER version 15 is not working as it did in version 12, and you may receive error messages while using it. Eyefinity recommends using ExamWRITER instead of ReportWRITER to print exam reports.
